Week 11

We are now 11 weeks and although big changes are occurring in the baby, changes are happening more slowly with me. The baby is about the size of a large lime. We went in for our first trimester visit and the doctor offered to do a audio sonogram, but she said with us not being 12 weeks yet we may have a hard time hearing the heartbeat. Our full visual/auditory sono wasn't for another week so we agreed not to do one because of the sheer worry it would cause us. I feel more blessed each day for this miracle god has given us and can't wait to meet him/her! We haven't been very good at updating this regularly, but I am committed to doing a better job in the future especially as things change more and more.

9 Weeks!

We are now 9 weeks pregnant and the length of baby Everett is now 1 to 1 1/4 inches, which is close to the size of a medium green olive. To put things in perspective and to chart our growth we thought we would start taking pictures so you could not only see the baby's growth, but mine also. As you can see I don't have much of a baby bump yet that is visible to the camera, but Carley and I can barely see it and it's very exciting! According to my book my uterus is a little bigger than a grapefruit. I've been feeling pretty good except for the headaches I've been experiencing. If I didn't know I was pregnant I would cut my head off and be done with it. I also started Pre-natal Yoga and it's been great. Thus far I only go on Monday nights, but I'm hoping to ramp that up a bit. As far as our next doctor's visit, we go back for our first trimester visit on February 23 and then again on March 3 for our first external sonogram. I can't wait to hear the baby's heartbeat and get another picture! Until next time...

Did I tell you WE'RE PREGNANT???

I know, now everyone can quit listening to me cry and worry about not every having a family of my own! We set up this blog for our family and friends to follow us throughout our pregnancy. We've been videotaping messages to little Everett, so we'll couple that with this blog and give it to the little miracle when he/she arrives. As most of you know Carley and I got pregnant via IVF (In Vitro Fertilization). We went in for our initial consultation in November and started the process on December 3. On January 2, after 10 long excrucating days we went to take a blood test and were told they would call around noon with the results. Around 10:3o AM, I ran to the grocery store thinking I had plenty of time before we would receive the news. Funny thing is on my way I called my dear Sister and cried profusely telling her how I didn't think I was pregnant because of the lack of symptoms. She coaxed me through it like countless other times and I continued on my way. I was on my last isle when the phone rang. It was Nina, our nurse! My heart dropped...I answered the phone. She said "Guess Who's Pregnant"? The tears came rolling down and I started squealing in disbelief. Shortly after I realized I was standing in the middle of the frozen food section in the grocery store crying and acting like a lunatic so I thought it best to quietly check out and rush home. I arrived home only to find that, like myself, Carley thought he had time to run an errand too so I debated on calling him or waiting for him to get home. There was NO WAY I could wait a minute longer as I was about to burst so I called Carley. I was crying of course, which in hind sight might not had been the best because I think he thought the worst. Boy was he mistaken! So, once he figured out I was crying tears of joy he hurried home and we celebrated with a long warm embrace knowing we we're about to embark on one of the greatest journeys; The journey of pregnancy and the miracle of birth. I can wholeheartedly say that day goes down as the best day of my life. I have a wonderful husband and a baby on the way........life couldn't be better. We hope to keep this blog as updated as we can, and hope you enjoy it. Oh...our little bundle is due September 10, the same month we were married. As it goes, September must be my lucky month :)!

7 wks, 6 days

Hello, everyone. Welcome to our journal. God willing, for the next couple of years, we will be keeping you posted. From Paige experiencing pregnancy to the birth of our child to the dirty diapers. If you want to know it, just check back.

Let me begin my first blog by saying that I made her cry again today. I gotta start doing a better job. Maybe I need to read a few more chapters in the book that Preggie-Paige bought me. It told me to avoid certain subjects, but I didn't listen. After I cook Chili for dinner tonight, I'm on it.

My Best Friend

It's been five months since I married my soul mate, best friend and one true love...and now we're pregnant! We just keep getting better with time and I couldn’t have asked for a better husband! Carley, thank you for being my prince charming. I love you more than words can say.
